We are honored to be entrusted with your most precious treasure. We are so excited to be partners with you in guiding your child through their growth development and learning experiences.

Nursery (6 weeks to 12 months)

Our nursery has been specially designed to create a nurturing environment for your infant. We believe that we are partners to our parents and that communication is essential. The nursery is where your journey with child care begins and we want your overall experience with us to be exceptional.

Junior Toddler/Senior Toddler (12 months to 2.5 years)

We feel that learning should be fun, exciting and rewarding. We also feel your toddler learns best through doing, seeing and hearing. This will be accomplished through discovery centers which include art, blocks, book and music. Physical development and coordination are encouraged through daily outdoor play.

Junior Pre-School/Pre-School (2.5 to 3.5 years)

Learning and interest centers are an active a part of the curriculum and books are read to the children every day. In this classroom, your child will be exposed to such skills as; following instructions; identifying animals and their sounds; identifying basic colors; utilizing various types of art material; working with building blocks; stringing bead; doing simple puzzles; listening stories and participating in calendar time; singing and other group activities. They also begin to recognize their numbers and letters as well as their own name. Other concepts introduced are big and little. Over and under; in and out; up and down. Our learning is structured through weekly thematic units such as season’s, insects or transportation. Daily circle time and most are projects address the weekly theme.

Senior Pre-School 1/Senior Pre-School 2 (3.5 to 4 years)

Children are exposed to daily age appropriate activities in discovery centers with include a math center, writing center, science center, art center, reading center. Dramatic play/home living center and music center. Circle time is used for the teachers to model and talk about appropriate behavior. During this time the teacher introduces finger plays, poems, songs, calendar and the Pledge of Allegiance. Physical development and coordination are encouraged through daily outdoor play. When the weather prohibits outside play, we exercise to music.

Young Life Academy Care Givers:

Because we believe consistency is important, the same care givers will be scheduled each day. This will allow your child to become acclimated to their new environment. This will help build a relationship between you and the person who is caring for your child in your absence. All care givers are CPR/First Aid certified (infant through adult) and complete yearly child care training per State Regulations.

Due to the larger class sizes, we have implemented the team-teaching method. By using this method, the classroom is equally divided into smaller groups and each care giver is assigned a specific group of children to work with. Having these smaller group sizes encourages not only learning, but social skills such as kindness, sharing, taking turns, taking care of classroom property and settling conflicts appropriately. The children remain in their smaller groups during all small group activities such as art, math, science, reading and writing. All children are together as a large group during circle time, centers and recess.
